Amanda reads a lot of picture books these days. She is especially drawn to stories with beautiful artwork that are fun to read aloud in the most exaggerated voices.

Another gorgeous book by Aaron Becker. No words but there is so much to discover on every page. The book shows exactly one scene and how the tree and river appear over the course of hundreds of years.

While the book itself is a delightful piece of art, the author's notes at the end that discuss the inspiration of the original farmhouse and what stories she discovered in it through their left-behind things is even more fascinating for the grown-up.
